A day at Verve House

No gym, no rows of chairs. Movement hides inside ordinary life, with space for fresh air, familiar faces and a little joy.

Sunrise breathing

Breathwork and stretching on the grass, barefoot if you like.

Garden & hens

Collect eggs, water the beds, pick fruit for lunch. Bending, carrying, balancing: real-life strength.

Movement circle

Playful balance games with scarves, balls and music. It feels like fun, and it builds strength.

One long table, food from the garden, conversations that go on.

Storytelling nights, music and quiet company as the sun goes down.

Nature, every day

Fruit trees, raised beds and a flock of hens. Time outdoors is part of the schedule, not a treat.

Movement as play

Balance, strength and coordination hidden inside games, music and dance. Caregivers are trained to bring it into every hour.

Food from the garden

Eggs from our hens and vegetables from our beds, cooked in an open kitchen everyone can wander into.

Measured, not guessed

Balance, walking and strength are checked regularly, so families can see the difference.

ACTIVE LIVING

Long-term residence

Who: Active adults and couples
How long: Open-ended. Verve is home.
Every day: Movement, nature and brain-stimulating activities
The goal: Years of independence, activity and connection

RECOVERY TRANSITION

Short-term recovery stay

Who: After a hip fracture or joint surgery, once rehab ends
How long: 30 to 90 days, with a clear goal and end date
Therapy: PT and OT on site through a home health partner
The goal: A safe return home, or a new home with us

Just north of the Caloosahatchee River in North Fort Myers, between open pasture and the Gulf Coast. Far enough for birdsong, close enough for family visits and hospital follow-ups.

why Verve exists

Rehab that feels like living,
not like therapy.

For years as a physical therapist in nursing homes, I saw the same scene: elastic bands, no music, no meaning, and people who slowly stopped trying. Recovery was treated as a chore, and strength faded while people sat still.

Verve House is my answer: a home where you get stronger while you garden, cook, dance and laugh with friends. Every routine is shaped by a physical therapist, so the fun has a purpose.
